Witnesses explained a scene of “large stress” as the car appeared on the pitch at Kendal rugby club right before 17:00 GMT on Wednesday.
An eight-year-old woman, also from Kendal, was injured and required to medical facility for therapy.
Cumbria Authorities apprehended a 40-year-old guy from Lancaster on suspicion of triggering fatality by harmful driving, but included: “Currently, there’s no indicator to recommend that this event was a purposeful act.”
The eight-year-old’s injuries weren’t deadly, authorities said, and the apprehended guy remains in guardianship.
‘Scared children’
Eyewitness Scott Denney said it “all happened very fast”, including: “Equally as we obtained on the pitch, a car came through the obstacles on top and after that arrived at the pitch.”
Mr Denney, whose child goes to the GT7 Football Academy which holds educating sessions at the rugby club, said he had “no idea” how the car obtained on the area.
“It was simply large stress. It was simply not very nice at all.
“The children were certainly scared but the trainers handled it truly, truly well.”
He said staff obtained the children off the area and from view of the crash website, and included: “Last evening there was a great deal of families here that pulled with each other to give support to the mum and father and friends of the little woman.”
