The trek of  Kheerganga starts from Barshaini. A small village that serves as a starting point to many treks like Tosh, Kheerganga. The total trek is 14km and can be covered in 1 day. How to reach?

To reach Kheerganga you have to reach Kasol first.

The is no railway or airport connectivity to Kasol from Delhi or Chandigarh.

The nearest airport is the Bhuntar airport near Kullu, which is 31km from Kasol.

Direct buses are available from Delhi / Chandigarh to Bhuntar.  You will easily get buses from Kullu to Bhuntar which is 5km away.

The nearest railway station is the Joginder Nagar Railway station which is 145 km from Kasol. You will easily get a private taxi or bus to reach Kasol.

Food & culture.

Israeli cuisine is the most popular food in Kasol. There are so many restaurants on the street where you will get different cuisines like German and Chinese. The food is good and different from your regular food.

The culture of Kasol and other nearby villages is very vibrant and great. The lifestyle of the locals and hardships what they earn, how they live, famous things, etc. The trek offers a great opportunity to explore the culture.

  • If you have extra time then explore the nearby villages. Manikaran Gurudwara is an amazing scenic destination to visit near Barshaini.
  • Take adequate breaks while the trek. Do not run, just walk.
  • Always try to cut the cost while traveling. Taking a bus rather than a private taxi will be convenient and less expensive.
